ELASTIC SUPPORT OF THE PROPELLER SHAFT IN THE STERN-TUBE (LAGERUNG DER PROPELLERWELLE IN EINEM ELASTISCHEN STEVENROHR),

Abstract

The construction described reduces the propeller excited vibratory forces and prevents them from bein transmitted to the hull structure. Compared with similar known constructions the elastic support has the advantage that the vibration characteristics can be calculated and predicted in an early design stage of a ship. (Author)
