GYRO TORQUE COEFFICIENTS,

Abstract

This report examines equations for the torque about the output axis of the single degree of freedom floated integrating gyro, and considers the determination of gyro torque coefficients from specific gyro test positions. The report considers tumbling tests with the gyro output axis parallel to the test table axis of 45 degrees to earth's axis, servo tests with the gyro input axis parallel to the test table axis or 45 degrees to the table axis, and modified tumbling and servo tests. In addition, the general torque equations are considered under conditions of linear vibration and centrifuge testing. This report was originally submitted in July 1962 and revised in December 1964.
