SUGGESTIONS FOR PHASE II OF RESEARCH ON THE ELASTIC PROPERTIES OF ASPHALTIC CONCRETE; AND ELASTIC PROPERTIES OF ASPHALTIC CONCRETE.

Abstract

A linear relationship does not exist between stress and strain for asphaltic concrete. Therefore, the modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio that may be cited must be referenced to a particular condition of strain. A knowledge of the elastic properties of the individual components of asphaltic concrete must be obtained before the probable deformation characteristics of a composite blend of these materials can be obtained.
