ENVIRONMENTAL DESCRIPTIONS OF RANGER TRAINING AREAS. PART 3. FORT BENNING, GEORGIA

Abstract

This study, a part of the U. S. Army Research and Development Board Project MEGA, has been concerned with three U. S. Army Ranger training areas located in north Georgia, Eglin Field, Florida, and Fort Benning, Georgia. Reports designated Part 1 and Part 2, dealing with the north Georgia and Florida areas, respectively, have been previously submitted. The third and concluding report on the investigation contained in the following pages consists of the results obtained in the Fort Benning phase of the study followed by some summary comments regarding the whole study. Area maps accompanying the report represent the compilation of macrogeometric and vegetational data from the Fort Benning area drawn to a scale of 1:20,000.
