FAILURE MODES AND EFFECTS ANALYSIS, METHOD FOR ACCOMPLISHING PART/ASSEMBLY.
Abstract
This document is a step-by-step method document to describe the proper accomplishment of three related analyses: (1) Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, (2) Failure Mode Probability Analysis, and (3) Failure Impact Ranking; with relation to parts and assemblies. Section 5 is a Data Requirements Summary which sets forth the types of data required to use the method. The approach used herein was to discuss the method and then illustrate its use by appropriate examples, with respect to each of the three types of analysis. This document is intended for use by design engineers. (Author)
