STUDIES ON THE PHOSPHOLIPASE A ACTIVITY OF CROTALUS ATROX VENOM,

Abstract

Phospholipase A of Crotalus atrox venom can be inhibited by N-ethylmaleimide, iodoacetamide, diisopropylfluorophosphate, N-bromosuccinimide, O-methylisourea, and ethylenediaminetetraacetate. Calcium and nickel ions at 10 mM concentrations activate while lead, zinc, mercury, and barium ions inhibit phospholipase A of Crotalus atrox venom. (Author)
