Abstract

The subjects discussed include status reports on shock tube studies of radiative recombinations of CO and O at atmospheric pressures, carbon monoxide oxidation at low pressures and analyses of the kinetics of carbon monoxide oxidation with emphasis on the design and construction of an ozone synthesizing and handling system, optical and spectroscopical equipment for absolute intensity measurements in the ultraviolet, visible and near infrared regions of the spectrum and the design and performance characteristics of a cold gas driven, 24 in. diameter shock tube facility for studies of gases with low contamination levels.
