EFFECT OF RADIATION ON CERTAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF ELECTRO LUMINESCENT SCREENS.

Abstract

Electroluminescent screens were investigated with simultaneou electro and photo-excitation. The frequency dependence has a maximum at 12--13 kc. p.s., on the position of which various forms of radiation -- ultraviolet, X-ray and gamma radiation -- have no effect. The brightness of the luminescent screen in an alternatingelectric field decrases during radiation with ultraviolet light and increases during X-ray radiation, the effect depending on the frequency. The possibility of obtaining ''images'' on an electroluminescent screen was verified. (Author)
