MARINE BIOLOGICAL SOUND WEST OF SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND

Abstract

A survey was made of the biological sound present in a set of tape recordings obtained from a hydrophone at 60 fathoms and another at 450 fathoms, over an 8-day period. A variety of types of biological sound were distinguished and analyzed. They were shown to have significant influence on the ambient noise level.
