HARVELL-KILGORE K-500 RED PARACHUTE FLARES.

Abstract

Distress signals were tested for conformance to U. S. Coast Guard Specification for Signal, Distress, Hand Held Rocket Propelled Parachute Red Flare, Subpart 160.036, CFR 46. Performance tests of 24 Harvell-Kilgore signals are reported. The tests covered firing and operating characteristtics, altitude, rate of decent, burning time, candlepower, storage, ignition, and chromaticity. (Author)
