PROTOTYPE TESTING OF R.F.D., INC. (USA) 25-MAN INFLATABLE LIFERAFT.

Abstract

Preapproval tests were conducted on a prototype RFD 25MM, MK 3, 25-person inflatable liferaft. This raft was submitted for Coast Guard approval in compliance with 46 CFR 160.051. The prototype liferaft satisfied all pertinent requirements of the regulations, except that it slightly exceeded the maximum allowable weight. This slight overweight (1-3/4 pounds over the required 400 pounds) could easily be corrected in future production. (Author)
