ON THE USE OF VACUUM ULTRAVIOLET ABSORPTION AS A MEASURE OF TEMPERATURE IN RARE GAS PLASMAS.
Abstract
An extension of the theory of plasma temperature measurement by vacuum ultraviolet absorption has been made which makes this technique useful in obtaining time-resolved temperatures. A survey of available photoionization cross sections is given, and improvements which lead to better time resolution are suggested. (Author)
