MEASUREMENT OF LOCAL CEREBRAL BLOOD FLOW BY IMPEDANCE CHANGES. APPENDIX B,

Abstract

The condition of the cerebral circulation is recognized as an important factor in brain functioning. Total cerebral blood flow may change with physiological state or drug administration, but even when there is no net change, there may be significant vasomotor effects in small, functionally discrete areas of the brain. This study deals with the development of an extremely sensitive impedance flow method and the demonstration that it is a reliable index of local cerebral blood flow changes. (Author)
