CLIMATIC ATLAS OF INDOCHINA (EXCLUDING MALAYA AND BURMA).

Abstract

This special study was prepared primarily as a planning aid to assist 1st Weather Wing units in providing basic climatic data for Indochina. Further interpretation of the data contained in this study should be made by a Staff Weather Officer. The period of record for data used in the analyses varies from as little as 2 years to over 50 years. Data from some parameters, such as ceiling/visibility data for Laos, were sparse while other data, such as precipitation amounts, were abundant. Thunderstorm data for some locations in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia include thunderstorms reported in the vicinity of the station as well as those occurring over the station. Fog occurrences for most locations in the Republic of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia are based on visibility restrictions below 3 miles. (Author)
