COHERENT INFRARED LASER.
Abstract
Several mechanisms are investigated which yield population inversions among rotation vibration levels of molecules or ions with a view to their application to infrared lasers. The particular molecule chosen was HD. The expected laser transition was a vibration transition of the ground state of the HD(+) molecular ion. (Author)
