THE WESTINGHOUSE WL-6285 MAGNETRON: DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE. VOLUME 1. PART 3.

Abstract

Experimental attempts to prepare cermet cathodes by hydrostatic pressing have progressed so that tools have been designed and ordered for making cathodes of the exact size needed. Considerable effort has been expended on the design and testing of various components of a cathode structure capable of carrying the 400 amperes required by the cermet cathode. All of the parts for this structure have been designed and are being made. Most of them have been tested under operating conditions. The first magnetron containing a cermet cathode should should be ready for test approximately the end of June. (Author)
