Abstract
This report covers work on 2-hydroxypropyl pectate. Studies to prepare this material by esterification of pectic acid in a heterogenous system were continued. The effect of the degree of esterification upon restoring the blood pressure of hemorrhaged dogs was further investigated. Other factors affecting yield and quality of clinical 2-hydroxypropyl pectate were also studied. (Author)
