INTRACONS CARGO INTRANSIT CONTROL FOR MATS. PART II, VOLUME I.

Abstract

This report presents details of the INTRACONS system from a computer viewpoint and prescribes in general terms the required equipment. The summary of requirements is intended as a checklist for vendors. Equipment characteristics, software support, and other vendor requirements are summarized. The operating concepts of the INTRACONS system, in terms of computer operations, are given. The remaining chapters present details of various phases of the system. THE MATERIAL PRESENTED IS GIVEN IN CONSIDERABLE DETAIL WITH THE EXPECTATION THAT IT WOULD BE USED NOT ONLY AS A BASIS FOR EQUIPMENT PROCUREMENT, BUT ALSO, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, AS AN IMMEDIATE STARTING POINT FOR SYSTEM PROGRAMMING. Accordingly, considerable attention has been given to the preparation of detailed flowcharts for many of the programs, as well as detailed specifications for operating procedures and files. (Author)
