PRELIMINARY PARAMETRIC STUDY OF SHORT STAND-OFF HYDRAULIC PROBE.

Abstract

Tests have been performed to study the parameters influencing the velocity of transmission and the energy transmitted through a fluid filled probe as a result of an impact. Four parameters are considered in the experiments. The results indicate that a significant amount of energy can be transmitted at velocities in the range of several thousand feet per second through the fluid filled probe and that there are definite parametric trends for the amount of transmitted energy.
