FIELD TESTS ON MAN-PACK RADIOS IN A TROPICAL ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

This report describes the results of a field test program to compare the performance of selected man-pack radio sets under various tropical terrain, vegetation, and weather conditions. The results of voice and CW tests on selected man-pack sets are given. Tests were conducted in the tropical forest area in southern Thailand, the rice paddy area of the low delta region near Bangkok, and the mountains about 100 miles north of Bangkok.
