MICROBIAL SUSCEPTIBILITY TEST OF ELECTRICAL INSULATING MATERIALS (SPAGHETTI TUBING),

Abstract

The purpose of this test was to determine the deterioration of spaghetti tubing when exposed to fungi growth. The spaghetti tubing was subjected to a series of simulated tropical environmental aging tests and then inoculated with fungi and a combination of nutrients. The results gave evidence of only one type tubing supporting fungus growth. Fungi growth can be kept to a minimum by restrictive selection of plastics used for electrical insulating material.
