THE PROPERTIES AND APPLICATIONS OF SYNTACTIC FOAM SF-1 POTTING COMPOUND AS USED IN SABRE ELECTRONICS,

Abstract

This report describes the properties of Syntactic Foam, SF-1, a dissolvable material of low density for potting electronic modules. Procedures for potting and unpotting modules are summarized. Limitations due to package geometry and susceptibility of components to the methyl-ethyl ketone solvent are discussed. (Author)
