AIRCRAFT LAUNCH ACCESSORY COMPATIBILITY WITH CE1 MOD 3 SHORT AIRFIELD FOR TACTICAL SUPPORT CATAPULT.
Abstract
This report presents the current status of a continuing evaluation of aircraft launch accessories necessary for launching A-4B/E, F-8A/C/D/E, F-4A/B, and A-6A aircraft with the CE1 Mod 3 SATS catapult. Launch accessories are considered to be bridles/pendants, nose-strut clamps, holdback assemblies, tension bars, etc. Data on main wheel/nosewheel clearances with various deck and launch dolly obstructions, service life of various components, and recommendations for remedial action on several functional deficiencies are noted.
