RESEARCH OF ADAPTIVE SANDWICHES AND LEARNING AUTOMATA.

Abstract

The adaptive sandwich consists of layered elements representing an electroluminescent source, a photoconductive receptor, and intervening electrochemical storage (analog) layer with variable transmissivity, and control electronics. The concept has been investigated as an implementation tool for learning automata. A general discussion of the learning automaton and a brief survey of construction approaches are included; developmental study has concentrated on an Adaptive Sandwich resolvable into a four-by-four matrix of cells.
