SERUM AND PAROTID FLUID FREE 17- HYDROXYCORTICOSTEROID LEVELS IN ACUTE AND CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE.

Abstract

A positive relationship between serum and parotid fluid free 17-OHCS levels was demonstrated in individuals with acute and chronic renal disease. Patients were studied during hemodialysis and after ACTH dosage. The use of parotid fluid has been suggested as a practical means of measuring 17-OHCS levels when repeated determinations are required over extended periods. (Author)
