SEMICONDUCTOR LASER ARRAY TECHNIQUES (SEMLAT).

Abstract

The report describes the system requirements, material and device problems that are involved in the construction of a 10-GaAs diode laser array and a GaAs diode used as an optical oscillator. The report also describes the development of an optical phase compensator and the cryogenic problems involved in housing the GaAs diode array, the GaAs diode oscillator, and the optical systems coupling all of the above components. All of the components have been successfully constructed and tested with the sole exception of the anti-reflection coating on the array diodes. (Author)
