HIGH RESOLUTION EMISSION SPECTRA OF SOME LASER PLUMES,

Abstract

This report presents an analysis of the emission spectra obtained from the vapors ('plume') produced when a single high energy pulse of laser radiation is impinged upon a target. The observed spectra from both metal and animal tissue targets are intense and very 'clean'; the complete spectra of the 4850 A and the 3000 A A10 systems have been obtained with a 3-millisecond exposure.
