FLUX GROWTH OF ZNO USING A TEMPERATURE GRADIENT.

Abstract

Large crystals of ZnO have been grown from ZnO-PbF2 melts. The crystals are grown by a combination of evaporation of PbF2 and mass transfer of ZnO to a cold zone in the crucible. The crystals grow in a mass at the bottom of the crucible with individual crystals as large as 10 x 12 x 7 mm. (Author)
