KU-BAND TRIODE AND CAVITY COMBINATION CW OSCILLATOR.

Abstract

Thirty-one experimental triodes with oxide cathodes on tungsten base were made available for circuit evaluations during this quarter. In addition, 24 special tubes and 6 tubes with barium-tungstate dispenser cathodes were assembled. Several assembly problems associated with dispenser cathodes have been resolved, however, excessive sublimation remains a major problem. Two advanced Ku-Band oscillator models delivered to USAECOM demonstrate the feasibility of gated oscillator operation in the Ku-band frequency range with duties as high as 25%. CW operation creates problems with excessive plate dissipation. (Author)
