INTEGRATED NAVAL SHIPYARD MATERIAL CONTROL SYSTEM.

Abstract

This thesis explores the possibility of establishing a centrally managed redistribution system for material located in naval shipyards employing the techniques of rapid communications and automatic data processing systems. The area of direct material inventory, which is the most unstructured and uncoordinated, is used to study the possibilities of establishing a feasible integrated naval shipyard material control system to operate in conjunction with the present computerized logistics programs located at the Bureau of Ships.
