A COMPUTER MODEL FOR INTERCEPTION OF A NEAR EARTH SATELLITE.
Abstract
A computer model is constructed for the purpose of simulating interception of a near earth satellite by a ground launched ballistic interceptor with emphasis on adaptability of the model to the investigation of interceptor performance in terms of interceptor and satellite characteristics. The model is keyed to instantaneous satellite positions, and provides on call information about minimum interceptor velocity requirements, parameters of possible interceptor trajectories and relative velocities at interception for those trajectories. The model is constructed with sufficient generality and flexibility so that it may be readily adapted to simulation or computation of other intercept problems. (Author)
