PREDICT. VOLUME I.

Abstract

One of the principal activities was the study of advanced techniques for new, much-improved automatic circuit analysis programs. The results of this study are summarized as a description of 11 features recommended for incorporation into a PREDICT II program. Also discussed is the system support for the PREDICT I program under this contract. Nine radiation detectors were studied in experiments performed at the Sandia Pulsed Reactor (SPR), to determine their gamma and neutron sensitivity. All of the detectors studied were found to be predominantly sensitive to the gamma rays at an SPR burst. The generation rate in silicon was determined experimentally using a PIN diode. Estimates of the dose absorbed from neutrons, which is available for ionization in the PIN, show that the neutron-generated current at SPR is beyond the resolution of experimental techniques presently used to measure this parameter.
