PRECOOLING OF PERIPHERAL ARTERIAL BLOOD IN COLD- AND WARM-ADAPTED RABBITS.

Abstract

The role of precooling of peripheral arterial blood in temperature regulation has been studied in cold-adapted and warm-adapted rabbits. It was found that precooling of arterial blood during its flow from the interior to the surface (ear) of the body in a cold environment is more marked in the cold-adapted rabbits. In a warm environment no difference was found between the two groups. (Author)
