CERAMIC RESONATOR MATERIAL FOR I.F. FILTERS.

Abstract

Compositional studies described in the First Quarterly Report were continued. Two different tasks are discussed: (1) The improvement of the resonant frequency-temperature characteristics, fr(T), characteristics of the 'zero' coefficient materials, compositions ranging from Pb(0.60)Ba(0.40)Nb206 to Pb(0.54)Ba(0.46)Nb206. These were synthesized by making blends of the calcined single phase end members. The object being to attain the appropriate balance of phases in the final specimen to yield a flat fr(T) characteristic. (2) The substitution of Sr for Ba in Pb(0.70)Ba(0.30)Nb206 was made to this high Qm composition to improve the fr(T) characteristics by increasing the Curie temperature. Problems in repeating Qm compositions impeded this study. A computer program for calculation and tabulation of results from experimental data was developed. (Author)
