DENDRITIC SOLAR CELL AND ARRAY INVESTIGATION.

Abstract

This report discusses the effort toward maximizing the radiation resistance of silicon webbed dendrite solar cells using novel approaches such as introduction of drift fields. Design consideration and fabrication techniques for solar cells using drift field structures are presented. Three different approaches for achieving graded base structures are discussed. One such approach (epitaxial graded base) was found to be better than the others. Results on solar cells fabricated using these approaches are presented. (Author)
