A NOTE ON THE RELIABILITY OF REDUNDANT STRUCTURES.

Abstract

This report presents a note on the possibility that the structure with redundant members will fail as a whole once one of the members fails. With the aid of a particular structure, this report shows that, in fact, once one of the members fails, the successive failures of members under the same load resulting in the failure of the entire structure are highly probable.
