LOW-TEMPERATURE REFRACTORY METAL-TO-CERAMIC SEALS.

Abstract

The effects of composition changes in tungsten-manganese-iron metalizing system were completed. Seal reliability studies on solution metalized specimens were complted. New solution metalizing formulations are presented. The use of thickening agents have been proved as an aid in solution metalizing. The advantages of dilute metalizing solutions versus concentrated metalizing solutions are shown. Results of solution metalizing of beryllium oxide presented. Theoretical studies include: solution metalizing theory; adhesion of sputtered films; and the scratch test theory. (Author)
