STAGNATION POINT HEAT TRANSFER PREDICTIONS FOR BLUNT BODIES IN HYPERVELOCITY FLOW,

Abstract

Stagnation point heat transfer predictions from boundary layer program by E. A. Brown and A. Dusto are presented in comparison with other predictions and shock tube data. Several charts have been prepared in terms of simulation parameters, whereby, the heating rates based on these results can be quickly determined at the stagnation point of a blunt body in shock tubes, hypervelocity tunnels and gun ranges.
