DENSITY, TEMPERATURE, AND NEUTRAL COMPOSITION OF THE ATMOSPHERE ABOVE 100 KM.
Abstract
The present state of knowledge of the upper atmosphere parameters, density, temperature, and neutral composition, including their associated time-dependent behaviour, is discussed. Results of recent measurements are compared with those of several theoretically-derived model atmospheres. Large disagreements, in many instances, are found to exist between different sets of data and between different theoretical models. (Author)
