U. S. GOVERNMENT METALWORKING PROCESSES AND EQUIPMENT PROGRAM.

Abstract

This fourth status report summarizes the research of interest to the U. S. Government's Metalworking Processes and Equipment Program (MPEP) for the last six-months' period (June-December, 1965). The previous status reports (DMIC Report 201, DMIC Report 209, and DMIC Report 218) were issued on March 18, 1964, November 23, 1964, and June 16, 1965, respectively. This summary is in the form of topical discussions and is presented under the following subject areas: (1) Effects of Metallurgical Variables on Deformation and Fracture; (2) Effects of External Variables on Deformation and Fracture; (3) Mechanics of Processing; and (4) Metalworking Process Development.
