PRELIMINARY TEST RESULTS FOR MINIATURE SNAP ACTION ROTARY SWITCH.

Abstract

The work reported consisted of building test models and preliminary testing and evaluating of the designs. The areas investigated are: index design, section design and complete switch assembly design. Eight section combinations were tested. These varied in design, materials and mounting means. The best over-all results were obtained using a stator of laminated glass silicone thermoset plastic and a rotor of molded polytri- fluorochloroethylene thermoplastic mounted to the index with standard hardware consisting of metal spacers, screws, nuts and lockwashers. The selection of the optimum section design was based primarily on the results of performance under moisture resistance and dielectric strength tests. (Author)
