ELASTICITY THEORY FOR ANISOTROPIC MEDIA.

Abstract

Analytical methods are developed for describing the elastostatic and elastodynamic behavior of anisotropic media. In particular, the problems of axisymmetric vibrations of orthotropic shells and transversely isotropic materials subjected to localized bands of pressure are treated both analytically and numerically. In addition, the problem of completeness of solutions for the elastostatic case of a transversely isotropic medium in cylindrical coordinates is discussed and representations of solutions for materials with a special kind of anisotropy are obtained.
