A STUDY FOR A PROPOSED CHEMICAL INFORMATION AND DATA SYSTEM.

Abstract

An action plan is presented for the U. S. Army Chemical Information and Data System (CIDS) program, consisting of 39 individual actions, stated succinctly in Part I of the report and treated in depth in the detailed discussion in Part II. Further supportive information is provided in seven appendixes. In its entirety the action plan treats of all aspects of an information storage and retrieval system designed specifically to serve the needs of the Army. It is intentionally constructed so that the system evolves gradually, through continuing varied experimentation, to a decision with respect to ultimate design of an operational system. A chart depicts a suggested chronological ordering of the individual actions. (Author)
