ADVANCED TUNING TECHNIQUES.

Abstract

The purpose of this program is to develop tunable, highly selective bandpass filters for the 30-cycle to 3-megacycle range. The techniques used are those of magnetic resonance. The theoretical problems associated with material limitations on filter systems is presented. Justifications are shown to support the chosen approach. The advanced tuning technique shall employ the 'linear-mixer: carrier NMR filter' approach for a single unit covering the entire frequency range. An NMR filter or optically pumped filter can be used for limited frequency ranges. (Author)
