CALIBRATION PROCEDURES FOR PROVING GROUND INSTRUMENTATION. PART I.

Abstract

Lack of written procedures hampers standardization of calibration techniques and the objectives of the Army calibration system. Some calibration procedures that are commonplace in proving ground operations are published to assist in standardizing local calibration procedures, to provide guidance where calibration of these items is necessary elsewhere, and to serve as a basis for a DA calibration technical bulletin if one is required. This report contains calibration procedures for piezoelectric pressure transducers, field sky screens, gunner's quadrants, steel measuring tapes, light-measuring devices, and surface accuracy determination of parabolic and spherical mirrors.
