INVESTIGATION OF LARGE SIGNAL MICROWAVE EFFECTS IN FERROELECTRIC MATERIALS.

Abstract

Results of tests performed at V-band, X-band and S-band on Ba sub 0.8 - Sr sub 0.2) TiO3 and (Ba sub 0.6 - Sr sub 0.4) TiO3 material are reported. Measurement techniques and equipment are discussed using block diagrams and sketches. Theory for computing dielectric constant and loss tangent from measurements made on a microwave bridge and on an infinite length sample is included, and a summary of the computed values is included. Curves showing the behavior of dielectric constant and loss tangent as a function of temperature are also included. Progress in large signal testing is reviewed and the resulting data are reported.
