PRECISION TEMPERATURE CONTROL AS APPLIED TO FLOATED GYROSCOPES,

Abstract

Temperature control of precision floated gyroscopes is required to maintain flotation and to eliminate error torques resulting from hot or cold spots or changes in the instrument's thermal environment. The control problem is described as regulation of a reference temperature distribution, within limits, in the face of disturbances. The main thermal control loop is described, and the equations for the thermal-loop transfer function are derived. (Author)
