SUBMINIATURE AUDIO CORDS.

Abstract

Stranded wires insulated with nylon, polysulfone, polypropylene, high density polyethylene, irradiated polyethylene, or nylon were evaluated for lightweight, flexible, retractile audio cords. tinsel cords consisting of cadmium bronze wires insulated with nylon. Fortisan, Fortrel, and Nomex were also evaluated. Several staycord and shielding materials and constructions were tested. Initial investigations were for subzero flexibility and room temperature flex-life. Several jacket materials were included in the evaluations. (Author)
