ON THE PROPERTIES AND APPLICATIONS OF VACUUM-TIGHT CERAMICS IN VACUUM TECHNIQUES (PRISPEVOK KU PROBLEMATIKE VLASTNOSTI A POUZITIA VAKUOVOTESNEJ KERAMIKY VO VAKUOVEJ TECHNIKE),

Abstract

This article evaluates reports on vacuum-tight, mostly low-loss ceramics, and points out the problems encountered in producing ceramic-metal seals (ceramic-to-metal bonding). The critique dealing with the most important properties of vacuum-tight ceramics discusses their drawbacks and advantages for application for vacuum techniques, primarily those used with thermionic tubes. The final analysis arrives at pertinent conclusions and recommendations as to the application of vacuum-tight ceramics. The article also reports on some new ceramic materials. (Author)
