DC MAW (CONVENTIONAL) INNER CONTROL LOOP,

Abstract

The conventional Directional Control Missile Antitank/Assault Weapon inner control loop is discussed in detail. The scheme is presented as well as reasons for the approach chosen. The two major areas covered are the inner loop system design and analysis and the control electronics design and analysis. Also discussed is the electrical-to-mechanical loop alignment method used. A mathematical analysis of the inner control loop is given, and compensation which permits optimum performance is derived. A complete breadboard of the inner control loop is made and tested for verifying performance requirements and reliability. Results of the breadboard tests are presented. In addition to mathematical analyses, analog computer studies were conducted. The final design resulted in a bang-bang type inner control loop using a torque motor and hybrid control electronics circuits. The control loop utilized both conventional and integrated circuits.
